Is Chiropractic Right for You?
You don't have to commit to a full appointment to ask a question. Book a complimentary call and we'll help you figure out whether chiropractic is the right fit for what's going on.
A 15-Minute Conversation Before You Book
You'll speak with one of our chiropractors for about fifteen minutes, by phone or video. No cost, no obligation, no pressure to book anything after.
Here's what happens on the call. We'll ask what's going on for you, talk through whether chiropractic is likely to help, and if it is, point you to the right starting service. If chiropractic isn't the right call for your situation, we'll tell you that too and suggest who is a better fit.
You don't need to take this call before booking an Initial Consultation. It's there for people who want a conversation first.
Book Complimentary CallHonest About Fit
Chiropractic typically helps with:
- Back pain, both the sudden episodes and the kind that keeps coming back
- Neck pain, stiffness, and headaches that build from neck tension
- Joint restrictions causing referred symptoms further down the chain
- Recovery after sport, work, or any repetitive loading pattern
- Movement restrictions getting in the way of performance
- Recurring injuries that haven't shifted with passive treatment
Not the right first port of call when:
- You have a fracture or a suspected fracture. Your GP or the emergency department comes first.
- You're dealing with serious neurological symptoms (sudden weakness, loss of bladder or bowel control, anything new and severe). A GP or specialist referral is the right starting point.
- The primary issue is mental health related. A GP or psychologist is where to begin.
- You need a surgical assessment. That's a GP referral to an orthopaedic specialist.
If any of the second list applies, the complimentary call still stands. Even if we're not the right fit, a five-minute conversation can save you a week of guessing.
Prefer to Ask in Writing?
Some people would rather type out what's going on than book a call first. That works too.
Skipping the Call? Here's What the First Appointment Looks Like
A brief intake form on arrival.
What's hurting, how long it's been going on, what makes it worse, what your work and lifestyle look like. At Align Health Co we believe in the value of spending time completing a comprehensive and thorough history.
Movement screening, posture, range of motion. We're looking for the mechanical story behind your symptoms.
Not for every patient. We refer for imaging when the findings or your history make it useful for the plan and diagnosis.
You leave having had your first treatment where appropriate and a clear explanation of what appears to be going on. The written working diagnosis and structured plan are finalised at the second appointment, called a Report of Findings, once any further investigations and your response to the first treatment can be reviewed.
Common Questions
Is the complimentary call really free?
Yes. No card details, no obligation to book afterwards. It's a fifteen-minute conversation so you can decide whether chiropractic is the right next step.
What if I'm not sure what's wrong with me?
That's exactly what the call is for. You don't need a diagnosis before you ring us. Tell us what's bothering you in plain language and we'll work out together whether a clinical appointment makes sense.
Do I have to be cracked?
No. Adjustments are one tool we use, and they only happen if you're comfortable with them. As Dr. Jacob Deguara (Chiropractor) puts it: "We always ensure we work together with the patient to formulate a treatment plan that they are comfortable with." Plenty of patients go through a full course of care with soft tissue work, dry needling, and rehab exercise instead. You can read more on our Chiropractic Adjustments page.
Do I need a referral?
No. You can book directly without seeing a GP first.
How long until I feel better?
For most conditions, patients see meaningful change within four to eight weeks of structured care. Some shift faster, some take longer. The complimentary call is a good place to ask about your specific situation so we can give you an honest range rather than a generic one.
Will I need X-rays?
Not for every patient. Imaging is something we refer for when it adds something to the plan, not as a default for everyone who walks in. The chiropractor you see will talk you through the reasoning if they think it's worth doing. Imaging is used as a tool to assess underlying cause, support diagnosis and rule out some conditions. X-ray referral for spinal x-rays can be bulk billed under Medicare.
Two Ways to Take the Next Step
If you're still weighing it up, take the call. If you already know what you want, book the appointment. Either way, the next move is small.
